What we collect
- Account data: your email address, an optional display name, and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google we store your Google account id and email so we can recognise you next time.
- Book data: the child's first name and age you enter, the story you choose, the photos you upload, and the pages we generate from them.
- Order data: for printed copies, the delivery name, phone number and address you give us, plus what you ordered and when.
- Usage data: if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records anonymised page views so we can see which parts of the site are used.
Photos
Uploaded photos are stored outside the public web root and are only readable by the generator. They are kept for as long as your book is kept and then deleted automatically. They are never sold, shared for advertising, or used to train models.
Payments
Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — we only keep the payment reference, the amount, and whether it succeeded, so we can show your order history and fulfil your order.
We email you for things you asked for: password resets, order confirmations, and shipping notifications with a tracking link when your parcel leaves us.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in — this one is essential and is always set. We also remember your language choice and your cookie preference in your browser. Analytics cookies are only loaded if you press "Accept" on the cookie banner; choosing "Only essential" keeps analytics switched off.
Your rights
You can ask us to export or delete your account, your books and your order history at any time. Deleting your account removes your books and credit history with it. Email us and we will action it.
Who we are
Softaware Commerce is the data controller for this site. For any privacy question, reply to any email you have received from us.
